ASK: Create costumes for a social media post and giveaway. One version to be a wearable Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers bag, and the other to be an actual Sour Brite gummy crawler.
PROCESS:
Patterns were created, prototyped and reviewed with the client at an accelerated pace due to the tight timeline. The crawler costume took about six very different iterations to get to the final shape and construction.
CHALLENGES:
There were challenges for every department on this project. In development, the challenge was to create this unusual shape that would give the desired effect (long and skinny, but also wiggly and gooey), and achieve it using materials that would enhance the effect and simultaneously keep their shape without requiring an internal framework. I tested multiple materials for both the crawler and the bag before finding the ones that worked.
